As the former manager of client services, Ann Zimmerman provided oversight for the client services team that supports members of OARnet, the nation’s leading high-speed research network for K-12, higher education and economic development.
Zimmerman’s team assisted colleges and universities in obtaining last-mile connections to the network for Internet and research applications. The client service team worked with users and vendors to ensure customer satisfaction and resolves all technical issues related to their network and Internet connections.
Additionally, Zimmerman’s team promoted virtualization, video conferencing, co-location and disaster recovery services, as well as Internet2, a national networking consortium for research and education.
Prior to OARnet, Zimmerman worked for Quest Communications for ten years. There, she managed a group that supported network applications for an eight-state region.
Zimmerman earned her bachelor’s degree in English education from Rutgers University and currently is pursuing training in instructional design and technology to better understand the use of technology in the classroom.
