Project Description:
The OSCnet Measurement project was funded by the Ohio Board of Regents and was focused on the building of a testing and evaluation infrastructure for the emerging OSCnet backbone. In particular, we were preparing for the broader use of voice and video technologies, the transfer of large datasets, and the use of other high-performance applications that will make extensive use of network bandwidth. The main goals of the project were as follows:
By the end of this project we had in place- a testing infrastructure, proven testing methodologies, and relevant training material that can be employed by all the Ohio-institutions that are planning on adopting and investing in large-scale use of high-performance applications on the OSCnet.
