OARnet Privacy Policy

OARnet respects your privacy

We do not use cookies, except for our forums. The current web forum we use does use session cookies for logging in. However, they are not saved beyond the current browser session. We do not gather personally identifiable information unless you are a conference registrant or sign up to be part of the OARnet mailing list. OARnet registrants and those who sign up for the OARnet mailing list will be sent announcements related to OARnet events. This mailing list will only be used for OARnet and OARnet purposes and will not be sold or distributed to third parties.

The OARnet website collects the information stored in standard HTTP log files including:

• Internet Protocol Address (IP Address) of the machine which accessed our Web site
• Date of the visit
• Time of the visit
• Path taken through our Web site
• Browser being used. A list of files downloaded or viewed
• Amount of time spent listening to Audio
• Any errors encountered
